6 “And take care not to practice your righteousness before people to be seen by them; otherwise^[a] you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. ² Therefore whenever you practice charitable giving, do not sound a trumpet in front of you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, in order that they may be praised by people. Truly I say to you, they have received their reward in full! ³ But you, when you^[b] practice charitable giving, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
